When you make a reservation via SXSW Housing, nothing is charged at the time of booking. The hotels receive and begin processing our reservations in late February, which is when the hotel will charge your deposit and send your confirmation number. This is why the hotel will not have a record of your reservation until that time. If you listed your hotel loyalty on your reservation, you will not see your SXSW reservation reflected in your hotel’s app/account until the hotel has provided your confirmation number.
At the time that you make your reservation, you will receive a reservation confirmation email from SXSW Housing. Be sure to review your reservation confirmation as it contains important information, including your Reservation Agreement (cancellation penalties, deposit information, early departure fee, etc.), check-in and check-out dates, hotel details, and more.
