How do I change, cancel, or move my reservation to another hotel?

PLEASE NOTE: If you would like to switch hotels, do not cancel your current reservation. Check the Hotel Availability page for your dates, then email housing@sxsw.com to let us know which available hotel you'd like to move to.

Changes and Cancellations can be made online through our SXSW Housing portal. (Changes include: Updating check-in/check-out dates, updating payment details, adding a roommate, adding a special request or hotel loyalty number, and canceling your reservation.)

The link to make changes can be found in:

  1. Your reservation confirmation email
  2. Your SXSW Social or SXSW EDU Social Account
  3. The Shopping Cart account used to purchase your registration 

If you’re having difficulty making changes online, just email us or reply to your reservation confirmation email. Provide the full name on the reservation & details of the change you wish to make.

If you’re reducing nights or canceling, the date of your written or online request determines if any penalties or fees will be incurred. If you are making changes within 72 hours of your check-in, you must also call the hotel directly.
