What is a Film Conference Session? What subjects are covered?

More than just a festival, SXSW is the place for innovative thinking about the current and future states of filmmaking and the industry behind it. SXSW Conference sessions have been hailed as some of the most extensive, forward-thinking, and educational forums found in a festival setting. Starting in 2017 Film badges are allowed into Interactive and Music sessions with secondary access (aka space available).  Aside from that there are a wealth of topics under our Convergence banner that blur the lines between our core creative industries. Film Badges get primary access to these sessions. A few examples of our Convergence Tracks are: VR/AR/MR, Experiential Storytelling, News & Media, and Sports.

The Film Tracks in the SXSW Conference present a wide range of topics from across the industry. 2019 promises Keynotes, Featured Sessions with key film industry and talent, hands on Workshops, networking focused Meet Ups, and more. The always popular Mentor and Round Table Sessions will be back as well, and offer even greater insight for select topics.
