SHORTS: What are the SXSW premiere and eligibility policies for short films?

These are the Shorts eligibility requirements for SXSW:

Eligible: To be eligible for SXSW 2023, your project must have been completed in 2021, 2022, or be on track for completion in early 2023.

While it is a factor in our final decision-making, we don't place tough restrictions on the premiere status of shorts.  If we really connect to and love a short film and it hasn't received a huge amount of attention, we will try to share it with our audience.
